5 simple steps to creating an aligned life.
by Rono

As the snow gently falls outside my window I am reminded of distant memories of holiday cheer and festive toasts.  It’s hard to believe that a few short weeks ago credit cards were maxed out from shopping, bellies were maxed out from eating and tempers were maxed out from the in-laws.

How is it that sometimes, a week can seem like forever and other times seem like a a minute?

It has to do with our ability to manufacture perceptions.  We humans are a constant running factory of ideas programed to specifically run “what you told it to” many holidays ago.  In actuality… when you were a young child.

I am often amazed that so many businesses are able grow and operate when the owners are operating from inner programs they created as a child.

So the big question is:

How do we Become the Conscious Creator of Our Destiny?

Here is a simple 5 step process to commanding the life you would LOVE to live.

#1 – Own this truth to be absolute…
“I accept that I am not aware of all the automatic behaviors that govern my life and I commit to being more in tune with my mind, body and spirit.

You’ve got to know where you are currently to get to where you want to be. By accepting that your life (and actions) are often being run on ‘autopilot’ based on your early childhood beliefs you can begin to understand that you

#2- Reflect instead of react.
When possible take a beat or breath before you take any action. Then, once you’ve had a moment to process your awareness, immediately take action toward a more supportive behavior/pattern/energy/feeling.

For example, when anger flares up and you become destructive, before you move into action and start breaking things (or yelling), take a beat. Then, ask yourself, “what is an alternative to being destructive/angry?”

Find a simple solution and act.  Maybe you keep a punching bag at the office or drop and do 5 push ups.  This will create as Tony Robbins calls it a “pattern interrupt” and will start to unravel the non-supportive action.

#3 – Take 100% responsibility for EVERYTHING in your life.
If you do not believe that you create your life you are missing the point.  God/The Universe/Great Spirit created you in its likeness to have the power of choice.  It gives you something that no other creature on earth has.

It gives us the ability to create buildings, science, poetry and technology.  It also gives us the power to create the life of our dreams or create a life we loathe.

When you accept this as another absolute truth, you will start to see that you are the ONLY person that has allowed yourself to be exactly were you are;  “Good” or “Bad”.

#4 – Surround yourself with people that are committed to living a full life.
Move over Mr. Negativity and insert other people who tend to take responsibility for who they are.  People you admire, people that are successful and people you want to be like.  Study them, model them and try out things they are doing that seem to work in their lives.  Keep what works for you and move on the next.

#5 – Make self-awareness a daily practice!
Much like continued physical exercise will create a body that is healthy and fit,  maintaining a practice of self-awareness will keep your “whole being” healthy and fit.

The initial step is easy to start.  All you need to do is simply make a
commitment to be aware of yourself and your thoughts. And, this is better than a
new years resolution because once you begin, it is something you will
continue to experience for the rest of your life!
