Our intention creates our reality. Wayne Dyer

One of my more intelligent habits, perhaps my only intelligent habit … is to plan at the end of the day for the next day. I usually invest time in planning at the end of the workday – so I can more effectively plan my evening.

One of the important parts of my daily closeout and then planning forward for the next day is to read a number of affirmations, I have both collected and written over the years.

These include disciplines and practices I want to integrate into my day; my goal accomplishment statements; a reminder to take and schedule time to see, to experience, and to enjoy; to remind myself to exercise, drink water and to get out into the fresh air; inspirational quotes … etc.

I was reviewing these Affirmations with my partner Rono, when he pointed out these were not Affirmations but Declarations.

This may seem a minor point but it struck me immediately as an important shift in my intentions. So now thanks to Rono part of my planning is to read aloud my Declarations of Action for the next day.

One of the inspirational quotes I read contains great advice from perhaps an unlikely source – Bruce Lee.

Recognizing the influence of my subconscious mind over my power of will, I shall take care to submit to it a clear and definite picture of my major purpose in life and all minor purposes leading to my major purpose, and I shall keep this picture constantly before my subconscious mind by repeating it daily.
